In light of the Coroner's findings, WorkSafe seeks to remind the construction industry of relevant guidance and risk control measures contained in the Victorian Concrete Pumping Industry Standard (2004), which can be downloaded at .worksafe.vic.gov.au.
The newly formed Concrete Safety Initiative of Victoria (CSI Victoria) recently held a meeting of key industry leaders to look at ways of improving safety within the domestic concreting industry. CSI is currently working with the Victorian Volume Home Builders Safety Alliance to ensure that everyone involved in the task is contributing in a positive way towards compliance.

Construction safety focus: Mobile concrete boom pump
A Sydney concrete pumping company has been fined $375,000 after a worker sustained fatal head injuries when he was struck by an unsecured hose attached to concrete pumping equipment at a Fairfield building site in 2017.
Most recently a male, 24, was struck and seriously injured while cleaning out the concrete pumping equipment used in a concrete pour on a rural property in northeast Victoria. He later died in hospital. Control measures WorkSafe expects that when cleaning out
